Participatory Magazine
The Participatory Youth Magazine is our group's first project. It began as an experiment: a magazine built on co-creation and open meetings, covering topics of participation and citizen initiatives.
In our first issue, we open up a dialogue about our city, our neighborhood, neighborhoods across Greece, Europe, and the world — supporting one another and looking for common ground for action with translocal impact. The issue brings together the methods and good practices in participation and co-creation that we tested along the way, recording what worked, the challenges we ran into, and where we want to go next.
Since last November, more than 60 people have taken part in creating the Participatory Youth Magazine, through monthly Open Meetings and an ongoing weekly WhatsApp community that grew with every new gathering.
The experience of this first issue shows that, against disengagement and resignation, there's real will and motivation to find new ways and spaces where we — as young citizens — can listen and be heard, participate actively, and co-create a living space for collective action and new ideas.
